“The youngster has impressed at the under-20 World Cup and the Argentine manager thinks he has what it takes to step up to the first team.

“If this is the case, he could replace Mount in The Blues’ squad for this forthcoming season.”

Meanwhile, as many as nine clubs are in the race to sign Chelsea striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, according to a report on GOAL.

Despite only joining Chelsea from Barcelona last summer, the 33 year old Gabon striker has been given the greenlight to leave Chelsea this summer after scoring just 3 goals in 22 games.

Four Saudi clubs are interested in signing Aubameyang, with Al-Ahli and Al-Shabab among the frontrunners.

Interest in Aubameyang isn’t limited solely to the Gulf state with AC Milan, Inter Milan and Barcelona are also interested in signing the Chelsea striker.

Turkish giants Fenerbahce and Galatasaray have also been monitoring him, although it is likely none of those in Europe will be able to match the exorbitant fees offered by the Saudi clubs.
