According to journalist Rudy Galetti, Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino has made midfielder Moises Caicedo his first choice signing for Chelsea this summer.
Brighton are reportedly demanding for a fee of £80million for the Ecuador midfielder.
Galetti said: “Chelsea are working with Brighton to reach an agreement for Caicedo, confirmed. No issues expected on personal terms side.
“As told, the Colombian midfielder is the main target for Pochettino: the new Chelsea manager considers him the ideal player to strengthen the midfield.”
Meanwhile, Arsenal legend Robert Pires has claimed Arsenal are willing to pay big money to sign Chelsea transfer target and Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo.
According to Pires, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is desperate to have the Ecuador international midfielder in his team.
Pires stated that the Ecuadorian would be a great hit in Arsenal’s playing style.
Speaking to El Canal del Futbol, the former Gunners star said, “I hope he signs for Arsenal. Mikel Arteta wants him, he’s got all the tools needed to succeed at Arsenal. The club are willing to pay big money for him, and that’s a testament to his ability.”
