Chelsea have opened talks with Southampton midfielder Romeo Lavia, according to talkSPORT.

The 19 year old Belgium midfielder is now a target for the Blues after Chelsea missed out on Sporting Lisbon’s Manuel Ugarte who is set to join PSG.

The Blues saw a bid of £50million for Lavia rejected last summer and are hoping to sign the 19 year old midfielder this summer.

Following their relegation to the Championship, Southampton are hoping to sell the midfielder this summer for at least £45million.

Former Chelsea star Eden Hazard has urged Lavia  to join Chelsea this summer, according to The Express.

With Chelsea keen on signing Lavia this summer, Hazard has reportedly encouraged his international teammate to take the chance to join Chelsea if the opportunity arrives.
