According to The Times, Chelsea and Spanish side Real Madrid are set to battle for the transfer of 25 year old Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martínez this summer.

New Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino believes the Argentine striker is among the best in the world and wants him at Chelsea next season.

Martínez’s future is expected to be decided after Saturday’s Champions League final against Manchester City in Istanbul.

But Real Madrid, who pursued Martínez before his move to Inter from Racing Club in 2018, are understood to have identified him as a potential signing this summer.

Real Madrid need to sign a replacement for Karim Benzema who has left the Spanish side this summer for the Saudi Arabian league.
