According to a report on TalkSPORT via Metro, Levi Colwill is not happy to settle for being a backup or rotation player at Chelsea next season and will push to leave unless he is guaranteed regular playing time.

The 20 year old Chelsea academy graduate impressed on loan at Brighton this season and is keen on continuing working under Roberto De Zerbi next season.

Brighton have already seen a £30million bid for Colwill rejected by Chelsea and are prepared to go even higher and are now readying a club-record £40m bid, though Chelsea are expected to reject that proposal too.

Chelsea have plenty of centre-backs at the moment – Thiago Silva, Kalidou Koulibaly, Trevoh Chalobah, Wesley Fofana and Benoit Badiashile, who was signed in January – meaning there could be limited opportunities for Colwill next season.

Colwill is thought to be against going out on loan again and would prefer a transfer if Chelsea cannot give him the role he is demanding.
