Chelsea held a meeting with 22 year old Sporting Lisbon midfielder Manuel Ugarte on Thursday.
According to Record Portugal via GOAL, the meeting between Chelsea and Ugarte was to address the wage discrepancy between Chelsea’s offer and the offer from French club Paris Saint-Germain.
Blues have made great strides in their quest to sign Ugarte this summer and he is said to be a player desired by new manager Mauricio Pochettino.
Pochettino sees Ugarte as an ideal midfield partner for Chelsea record signing Enzo Fernandez.
Ugarte is keen on playing Premier League football next season and prefers a move to Chelsea over PSG but he wants Chelsea to match the salary offer from PSG.
