Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah wants to stay and fight for his place in the team under new Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino, according to The Athletic.

Italian giants Inter Milan are interested in signing Chalobah this summer but the centre-back is keen on staying at Chelsea.

The Chelsea academy graduate wants to meet Pochettino and get a sense of where he fits into the new Chelsea head coach’s plans next season.

His preference is to stay at Chelsea and he will only consider leaving if it is made clear that he is surplus to requirements.

Pochettino’s preference for playing a back four rather than a back three, coupled with the club’s lack of European football, will further increase competition for minutes next season.

Chalobah signed a new contract committing him to Chelsea until 2028 in November.
