Mauricio Pochettino is already facing an early headache as Chelsea boss with Kalidou Koulibaly unwilling to leave the club, according to a report on Metro.
The report states: “Koulibaly is among a group of senior players Chelsea are keen to move on, but that will be no straightforward task.
“The Senegal international’s £200,000-a-week wages will represent a significant stumbling block, while the 31-year-old is keen to remain at Chelsea and prove his worth.”
Addressing his future last week, Koulibaly said: “It is true it was difficult season,’ he said. ‘For me it was a very hard welcome because to come to the Premier League and have a season like this was not what I was thinking about, but football is like this, life is like this.
“You have to learn from every moment of this season to not do it again next season. For me it was a good season to understand the football in the Premier League, it was a big chance for me.
“I learn a lot about me, I learn a lot about the club and football in the Premier League so for the future it will be good.
“I hope next year we are going to see a better version of Chelsea and a better version of me to help the team and to win something next year.”
I learnt has offered to give Chelsea target Ugarte £2,000,000 annually, working out to £38,000 a week. What a gross direct to the Player?
If we continue l this no class A player will join the team.
Please, Chelsea is an elite team and deserves such players.
Koulibally’s job is done and he may go…
I hope Pochettino will let Kaulibaly prove himself this season. He is a good defender. Chelsea have been chasing him for many years. Why should we let him go without proving something good for us?
