Manchester United legend Paul Scholes has fired a warning to potential new Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino over the Blues squad.

Scholes thinks that Chelsea need to sign an entirely new backline as well as a goalkeeper and a forward.

Chelsea signed Kalidou Koulibaly, Marc Cucurella, Benoit Badiashile and Wesley Fofana in the last two transfer windows but Scholes has suggested Chelsea need to sign new defenders.

The Blues’ defence have leaked 46 goals in the Premier League this season, 13 more than was allowed last term.

Scholes told Premier League production: “I think he [Pochettino] is going to have to buy a couple of centre-halves, possibly a right-back, possibly a left-back, a whole new back four.

“I’m not sure about either goalkeeper.

“But I think going forward, I always look at a team and I’m excited when they create chances.

“I think adding a centre-forward to that, they’re always going to create chances and if you’ve got a team who can score goals, you’ve always got a chance.”
