According to Portuguese outlet Record via GOAL, Chelsea is interested in signing Sporting Lisbon midfielder Manuel Ugarte this summer.

The report adds: “Despite spending big in their previous transfer windows, the Blues have failed to form a squad that could produce results for them.

“With Pochettino being handed the charge of the club from next season, the Argentine could look to sign Ugarte and revamp Chelsea’s fortunes. The Blues would receive stiff competition from Liverpool who are also eyeing the Uruguayan midfielder.”
