According to Daily Mail, Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola admires Chelsea midfielder Mateo Kovacic and wants the 29 year old Croatian international to join Manchester City in the summer.

Kovacic has just one year left on his Chelsea contract and with no offer of an extension, the former Real Madrid midfielder looks set to leave Stamford Bridge at the end of the season.

Guardiola wants Kovacic to replace Manchester City captain Ilkay Gundogan who looks set to join Barcelona as a free agent at the end of the season.
