According to CBS Sports reporter Ben Jacobs, Mauricio Pochettino feels the timing is right to join Chelsea and is excited by the project.
The former Paris Saint-Germain and Tottenham Hotspur manager has agreed to become Chelsea manager and will be announced this week.
Jacobs tweeted: “Mauricio Pochettino feels the timing is right to join Chelsea and is excited by the project. Chelsea approached him prior to appointing Graham Potter but Pochettino was reticent to move having relatively recently left PSG, and with the summer window shut.
“Pochettino was also wary because #CFC didn’t have a fully functional recruitment team. A key factor on being sold by Chelsea was Laurence Stewart, who led the recruitment alongside Paul Winstanley. Stewart worked with Paul Mitchell at Monaco and came highly recommended to Poch.”
