According to The Athletic, Chelsea is refusing to play Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang due to the high bonus appearance fee in his contract.
The Blues reportedly believe there’s no point spending so much on a player that won’t be at the club next season.
The report adds: “Aside from sporting reasons, there has always been a financial incentive for Chelsea to leave him out given he has a high bonus appearance fee written into his contract. The club have little to gain from selecting a man who will not be with them next season.”
