Former Aston Villa star Gabriel Agbonlahor has urged Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly not to renew the contract of Mason Mount.

According to Agbonlahor, Mount is not outstanding and has not done enough to warrant the contract he is demanding from Chelsea.

Mount’s contract at Chelsea is set to expire in 2024 and contract talks between him and the club have not progressed well.

Mount is currently on a £80,000-a-week contract at Chelsea and is demanding to triple his wages if he must sign a new contract.

“He has scored 27 goals in 129 appearances. He’s not fantastic, is he? He’s not. The stats show that he is not. He’s an okay player, but he is not outstanding,” Agbonlahor told talkSPORT.

“Look at Arsenal. [Martin] Odegaard has got 14 goals this season. Mason Mount has scored 27 in 129 games. He’s not adding enough to the team to warrant a £200,000-a-week new contract. He’s not doing enough to warrant a new contract.”
