According to The Athletic, Chelsea manager hunt is set to end this week with the Blues expected to announce Mauricio Pochettino as the new Chelsea manager.

The report adds: “The process to secure a full-time replacement for Graham Potter has been taking place since he departed Chelsea on April 3 – and the anticipation is that it will be concluded this week.

“After a comprehensive search led by sporting directors Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley, a final decision is set to be made in the days ahead and an announcement will follow in due course.

“Lampard will stay in his post for Chelsea’s last four Premier League fixtures and collaborate with Stewart, Winstanley and the next boss ahead of that person assuming their role in the summer.

“The strong favourite to be appointed at Stamford Bridge remains Mauricio Pochettino, with the 51-year-old Argentine ready to take the position 12 months on from his exit from Paris Saint-Germain.

“Pochettino lifted the Ligue 1 title in his only full season at PSG, having previously led Tottenham Hotspur to the 2019 Champions League final during a five-year spell with the north London club.”
