Chelsea interim manager Frank Lampard has backed Chelsea’s decision to explore all options before appointing the next permanent manager.
After sacking Graham Potter last month, Chelsea’s recruitment team have interviewed several candidates including Julian Nagelsmann and Luis Enrique.
But former Tottenham manager Pochettino, who has been out of work since he was sacked by Paris Saint-Germain last summer, is now expected to take charge at Stamford Bridge once Lampard’s interim stint has ended.
“Do they [Chelsea] need to take their time to get the right manager? Yeah, they absolutely should do,” Lampard said.
“We are at that stage of the season now where we understand that we are not going to get into Europe, and other managers are probably going, ‘I’ll take a look at this and wait till pre-season when I can enforce what I want to do’.
“It’s not silly on their part, we’ve got the top four in the run-in and that is going to be a difficult process of games.”
You’re happy they’re delaying appointing a new coach because you are not a coach.. to me Chelsea at the moment has no manager.. Lampard can’t win you match..
Lampard is just there for the salary and nothing else. The best there can do now is to avoid relegation which is a huge task. Even the next game, they’ll lose to Bournemouth, Newcastle, Mancity, and one more. The best they can get is one draw before the end of the season.
Boehly is fully responsible bringing a high riding CHELSEA to this abyss. He,had no business sacking Tuchel, and worse still his replacements have shown he thicks SOCCER is American Football. He should distance himself from technical issues. The Club should get a successful past manager- Carlos Ancelloti or Jose Mourinho to get the club back to winning ways.
My dear brother you are very right toddy must distance himself from the technical team and stop visiting the dressing room as well
