According to German outlet Sport1 via The Sun, Chelsea midfielder Mateo Kovacic wants to quit Chelsea at the end of the season so he can reunite with Thomas Tuchel at Bayern Munich.

Tuchel, who coached Kovacic for 20 months during his stint in West London, is thought to be keen on the ex-Real Madrid man.

With Chelsea’s huge squad in need of trimming down this summer, Kovacic could be one of the players that makes way. It is understood that Chelsea would rather sell him to a club outside of England.

Kovacic joined the Blues from Real Madrid for £40million in 2019 and has gone on to rack up more than 200 appearances. He will have just one year left on his contract at the end of the season.
