Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has hailed Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois for stopping a Marc Cucurella shot just before half-time.

Real Madrid scored two second-half goals to beat Chelsea 2-0 at Stamford Bridge and Ancelotti believes the Courtois save before half-time was important.

Ancelotti said: “The big Courtois save was very important. We didn’t want them to go ahead. That could have been worrying. As the second half developed, we were stronger, we created space to open up quality transitions.”
