According to Spanish media outlet Sport, Chelsea are ready to compete with Barcelona for the transfer of Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan this summer.

Gundogan has established himself as one of the best midfielders in the Premier League since joining Manchester City from Borussia Dortmund.

The 32 year old German midfielder will be a free agent at the end of the season after stalling on extending his Manchester City contract.

The veteran midfielder has made 293 appearances thus far for Manchester City, chipping in with 54 goals and 38 assists.
