Chelsea owners Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali made their way to the Chelsea dressing room following Saturday’s dismal 2-1 defeat to Brighton at Stamford Bridge.
According to The Telegraph, Boehly had a talk with the Chelsea players in the dressing room after interim manager Frank Lampard had told the players his thoughts following the defeat to Brighton.
Chelsea’s owners made sure Lampard had finished delivering his verdict before making their own presence felt in the dressing-room.
The report claims Boehly described the Chelsea’s current situation, in terms of results and Chelsea being in the bottom half of the Premier League table, as “embarrassing”.
The Chelsea owners also made sure the players know that they are falling short of expectations.
Boehly also told the players that Tuesday night’s game against Real Madrid represents a chance to keep the season alive, end the embarrassment and give Chelsea’s fans something to be proud about.
