According to Sky Sports, Chelsea legal team have contacted Bayern Munich to discuss how much Chelsea will pay the German club as compensation to hire Julian Nagelsmann.
Despite sacking Nagelsmann as their manager last month, Bayern Munich didn’t end his contract and will demand compensation from any interested club.
The report adds: “Senior members of Chelsea’s legal team have been in discussions with their counterparts at Bayern to better understand what level of compensation will be due to the German club under the terms of his departure – if Chelsea decide Nagelsmann is the man they want.
“Anthony Barry’s situation could yet prove a useful negotiating position. He is currently on gardening leave from Chelsea but is wanted by Thomas Tuchel as part of his coaching team in Munich.
“Nagelsmann is one of a number of candidates Chelsea are considering for the summer, including Luis Enrique and Mauricio Pochettino.”
To Chelsea Management,
Appointing Negelsmann is going to be an experiment. He’s been hype because of his age. What did he achieve with Leipzig? Chelsea is an elite club and he will not be able to manage bigger egos. A V Boaz once as head coach, aged 32 comes to mind. What caused his sack at Bayern?
In this business one does not need a long discussion to appoint a Class A coach whose tactics and style of play is known to all followers. Also the number of trophies won at the highest level.
With all the coaches available now, Luis Enrique is the man.
No more experiments! Thank you.
