Frank Lampard has expressed his excitement at once again returning to the home dugout at Stamford Bridge ahead of Saturday’s Premier League game against Brighton.

“I’m delighted to be back and it will never fall short to me how much of an honour it is to be manager of Chelsea,” Lampard said.

“I’ve done the job before for a season and a half, I loved pretty much every minute and I’m happy to be back again now.

“This place is of course very special to me, I’ve performed here in one way or the other for a long time and I’ve had some amazing times here over many years, but my overriding feeling is absolutely to focus on the job in hand.

“We have to get wins on the board. Of course, it will be special to be in the home dugout again and I appreciate the support I’m sure I’ll get but I’ll have my serious face on as we try and record three points.”
