Following Saturday’s 2-1 defeat to Brighton, Chelsea boss Frank Lampard gave his verdict on teams being no longer scared of Chelsea.

Lampard said: “It might be the case but the fact is… it feels useless to hark back to the team I was on. Many top football clubs have moments where that fearfactor dropped.

“Liverpool a few years ago and then they pulled it back. The only way to fight this is to look within yourself to become a team that isn’t nice to play against.

“I would like to see more contact, not in a bad way. When you’re short, it’s hard to make contact. If teams are less fearful that should be a carrot for us.”
