Wesley Sneijder criticised two Chelsea players after Wednesday’s 2-0 Champions League defeat to Real Madrid and called Wesley Fofana a ‘waste of money’.

Discussing Marc Cucurella, who Chelsea signed for £62m from Brighton, Sneijder said: “Who brings in a guy like that? There are a few more like him running around [at Stamford Bridge].

“That Wesley Fofana too, signed for €80m, that really is a waste of money. Maybe the pressure is too big for him at such a big club.”
