Spanish side Real Madrid are ready to submit a bid for Chelsea right-back Reece James should the Blues be forced to sell players this summer, according to Spanish media outlet Marca via Daily Mail.
Despite James having a contract with Chelsea until the summer of 2028, Real Madrid believe the 23 year old right-back could be an option if Chelsea need to balance the books following the club’s £600million splurge on new players.
Real Madrid are long-time admirers of the England right back and reportedly made an approach to sign him 12 months ago.
The report also adds that Real Madrid believe James will be available for just €50m (£44m) despite having a contract with Chelsea until 2028.
