Frank Lampard has returned to Chelsea as interim manager until the end of the season and will bring some familiar faces back to west London with him.

According to The Athletic, Chelsea legend Ashley Cole will return to Chelsea as one of Lampard’s backroom staff. Former Chelsea coaches Joe Edwards and Chris Jones will also come back to the club.

Both Edwards and Jones left Chelsea to work with Lampard when he was appointed Everton manager and will continue to work with him back with the Blues.

Lampard’s previous spell as Chelsea manager ran from July 2019 to January 2021 and saw him win 44 of his 84 matches in charge before being replaced with Thomas Tuchel.
