According to The Independent, Chelsea want to speak to former Chelsea manager Antonio Conte about becoming Chelsea’s permanent manager.

Conte, who guided Chelsea to the Premier League title in 2017, only left our London rivals Tottenham last week after his reign turned sour.

The report claims that contact has been made through intermediaries, with the Chelsea board said to view Conte as a winner.

Conte guided Chelsea to our last Premier League title 2017 in his first season in charge of the Blues before winning the FA Cup in his second season in charge.

Conte was sacked by Chelsea after his second season in charge due to disagreements with the hierarchy, particularly over transfer targets and finances.
