Chelsea caretaker boss Bruno Saltor has explained why Mason Mount didn’t play against Liverpool on Tuesday night.

Mount was left on the bench for the entire 90 minutes against Liverpool despite Chelsea failing to convert numerous chances against Liverpool in the goalless draw at Stamford Bridge.

“He was available, but he’s coming back from an injury,” Saltor said.

“It’s always challenging bringing players back from injury. He can play in different positions, he’s a great player. We love him.”

“He’s a leader. He loves the club. You can see he’s an important player for us. He will have minutes for sure with anyone.”
