Graham Potter has been sacked as Chelsea manager following Saturday’s 2-0 defeat to Aston Villa which saw the Blues slip to 11th in the Premier League.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, former Bayern Munich manager Julian Nagelsmann is the favourite to become Chelsea’s next manager.
Nagelsmann was fired last week by Bayern Munich and, ironically, replaced by Potter’s Stamford Bridge predecessor Thomas Tuchel.
Romano tweeted: “Julian Nagelsmann is the favorite candidate to replace Graham Potter as new Chelsea head coach, as reported yesterday.
“Nagelsmann was mentioned yesterday during internal discussions — Julian is considered a talented coach. Talks are ongoing to make best decision.”
The Blues will need to act swiftly given Tottenham have also made contact with Nagelsmann following the departure of Antonio Conte.
