Former Aston Villa midfielder Lee Hendrie has blasted Marc Cucurella for his ‘schoolboy’ defending in Chelsea’s 2-0 defeat to Aston Villa on Saturday.

Cucurella misjudged a hopeful ball from Aston Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz which allowed Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins to deftly lob onrushing Kepa Arrizabalaga for Villa’s first goal.

Speaking on Sky Sports, Hendrie said: “That is schoolboy defending from a defensive perspective, you have to say.”
