Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich are not interested in a summer move for Chelsea midfielder Mateo Kovacic, according to Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg.

While Kovacic is highly-rated by Bayern Munich, Plettenberg states that German side aren’t looking to make additions in the centre of the pitch.

Kovacic’s Chelsea contract expires next year and will reportedly consider his options before signing a new Chelsea contract.

Plettenberg wrote on Twitter: “Mateo Kovacic: Top player but NO transfer target for Bayern Munich! And: They have no need on his position. Bayern won’t join the race.”
