Chelsea star Edouard Mendy is ‘nowhere near’ signing a new deal at the club after losing his starting spot to Kepa Arrizabalaga, according to The Times via Metro.

Mendy hasn’t played a single game for Chelsea in 2023 and has only recently returned to first team training after a near three-month lay-off.

Mendy’s injury has seen Kepa take hold of the keeper’s jersey and the Spaniard has impressed during the 31-year-old’s absence.

Mendy has two years left in his Chelsea contract and is nowhere near signing a contract extension with the Blues after losing his starting spot to Kepa.
