Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe is keen on strengthening his squad in the summer and has identified Chelsea star Mason Mount as a key transfer target.
Mount will have just one year left on his Chelsea contract in the summer and has failed to reach an agreement with the Blues over a new contract. Should Mount fail to sign a new Chelsea contract, he will be sold this summer to avoid losing him as a free agent next year.
According to a report on CaughtOffside, Mount is open to joining Newcastle United in the summer if he receives a contract of £240,000 per week from Newcastle United.
Mount currently earns around £80,000-a-week at Chelsea and is reportedly keen on tripling his current wages.
