Former Crystal Palace chairman Simon Jordan has sensationally labelled Chelsea a “manufactured club” while also claiming Chelsea will always be in the shadows of “legacy football clubs”.
“Saying and wishing it doesn’t make it so, does it? That’s a huge ask,” Jordan told talkSPORT when quizzed on Todd Boehly’s intention to make Chelsea no.1. “You’ve got football clubs that are legacy football clubs. Not manufactured ones like Chelsea.
“Chelsea and Man City are manufactured football clubs, from a different cut of the sort of genre of the Man United’s, Real Madrid’s and Liverpool’s of the world. I’m sure they won’t like to hear me say that.
“That doesn’t mean they aren’t a significant powerhouse of a football club with probably the most trophies over the last 20 years. The bottom line is if you’re going to be the biggest football club in the world, you’re going to steal the hearts and minds of people all around the globe. Chelsea aren’t going to do that.”
that’s totally nonsense talking
Says who? Tell this guy to do some research, it will shock him how globalized Chelsea has become. Chelsea is fast becoming a global name. We’re talking about modern days football and not the history football..
