Chelsea owner Todd Boehly is yet to deliver on a key promise made to Chelsea fans after buying the club from Roman Abramovich.

After acquiring the club in May 2022, Boehly told Chelsea’s official website: “We are honoured to become the new custodians of Chelsea Football Club. We’re all in – 100% — every minute of every match. Our vision as owners is clear: we want to make the fans proud,” he told the club’s official website.

“Along with our commitment to developing the youth squad and acquiring the best talent, our plan of action is to invest in the club for the long-term and build on Chelsea’s remarkable history of success.

“I personally want to thank ministers and officials in the British government, and the Premier League, for all their work in making this happen.”

Boehly promised to make Chelsea fans proud but Chelsea being 10th in the Premier League and winning just one game in 2023 isn’t the way to make Chelsea fans proud.

Boehly’s biggest gamble as owner was sacking the popular Thomas Tuchel and appointing Graham Potter as Chelsea boss. Chelsea have struggled badly under Potter and Boehly’s blind faith in the 47-year-old has left fans angry and confused in equal measure.

Chelsea fans aren’t proud of the decision to keep backing Potter despite the club’s poor run of form. Boehly promised to make Chelsea fans proud of Chelsea but that isn’t the case at the moment.
