Chelsea have reached an agreement with Brazilian club Vasco da Gama for 18 year old midfielder Andrey Santos to return to the Brazilian club on loan.

Chelsea signed Santos from Vasco da Gama in January but the Brazilian midfielder is unable to play for Chelsea this season after failing to get a work permit.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano tweeted: “Chelsea and Vasco da Gama are closing in on agreement for Andrey Santos loan after deal collapsed with Palmeiras, it’s almost done.

“Vasco accept Chelsea key condition for Andrey to play U20 World Cup — he will return to London in July.

“Medicals will take place soon.”
