Todd Boehly to sack Graham Potter if he loses this game

Pressure is mounting on Chelsea boss Graham Potter following a run of just two wins in 14 games and a defeat to bottom of the league Southampton on Saturday could be a turning point.

There were boos at Stamford Bridge at both half-time and full-time following the defeat to Southampton with fans urging the club to sack Potter.

Chelsea owner Todd Boehly has splashed more than £600million on new signings but there has not been a change in results.

According to talkSPORT transfer expert Alex Crook, Boehly will sack Potter if results don’t change in next two games against Tottenham Hotspur and Borussia Dortmund.

Crook told talkSPORT: “Two wins in 14 is simply not acceptable. Nathan Jones had a better win percentage at Southampton than Graham Potter has in those 14 games at Chelsea. Really damning statistics.

“I was there on Saturday and it turned quite toxic with boos and half-time and full-time. Chelsea fans around the press box were calling for Graham Potter’s head.

“The briefings coming out of Stamford Bridge on Sunday were saying that Graham Potter retains the backing of the board and that it is a long-term project.

“I’m just hearing one or two whispers to the contrary that Todd Boehly may have a different opinion to that.

“They have a huge game against Borussia Dortmund next week, basically their season could come down to that.”

Crook added: “They are so far adrift from the top four that if they are to be playing any Champions League football next year then they will have to win the competition.

“If they are to make a change and that will have to come now. You have Mauricio Pochettino lurking in the background.

“I don’t think Graham Potter is as safe as the noises coming out of Stamford Bridge are suggesting.”

  1. His sacking will be victory for the supporters. We have lost a lot B’se of Potter.

  2. Potter is a very poor lower league manager not good enough for Chelsea, his results prove this, he has to go asap.

Please I want to implore the owner of Chelsea and the board of directors should relief of Graham Stephen Potter of his job. The team( Chelsea) and players are too big and heavy than him, he can never maintain the team at all, it will be better if he can be sacked now before things will go worse than this.

We need a coach like Thomas Tuchel, or Jose Mourinho or Zinedine Zidane to get it right at Chelsea again. The only chance we have now is champion league and we have a quality team that can win it but with Potter, I don’t think it is possible

  4. I still stand with Potter for fair planning at Chelsea, The game with Dortmund was fantastic and the boys played well . Does that need a coach for Koulibaly ‘s short to be cleared on the line and Sterling’ s hearder at Southampton to be removed by the defender. The guys are aplaying as a team with the intention to win ,but there is a bit of unlucky which is running at our team. Leave Potter doing the job.
