According to The Athletic, Chelsea have paused contract negotiations with Mason Mount until the summer amid the club’s poor form.
Chelsea are 10th in the Premier League and have just two wins in 14 games, with fans calling for Graham Potter to be sacked.
Chelsea have reportedly tabled several offers but have yet to reach an agreement with Mount, who remains one of the lowest paid players at the club.
Mount’s contract expires in the summer of 2024 and the England international is reportedly demanding wages close to the top earners at the club.
Premier League rivals Liverpool are reportedly monitoring Mount’s situation at Chelsea and will make a move for the midfielder in the summer if he becomes available.
Should Chelsea fail to reach an agreement with Mount over a new contract, the Blues will look to sell the 24 year old midfielder in the summer to avoid losing him as a free agent next year.
