Chelsea boss Graham Potter has explained why he made six changes for the game against Southampton, with David Fofana starting his first game for Chelsea.
“We’ve had a heavy week,” Potter said.
“Two games, one away in Dortmund and one away at West Ham, so we need to use the squad as best as we can.
“We’ve got a few boys who have recently returned from injury and for them to play three games in a week at this stage, it’s just too much for them.
“So we’ve had to use the group and David has been training well. He’s a young forward who we think can add something for us in the box.”
