Chelsea boss Graham Potter has dropped Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from the squad to take on Southampton on Saturday, according to The Mirror.

The decision to drop Aubameyang comes hours after Potter insisted during his press conference on Friday that the striker was an important player.

Asked about Aubameyang in his Friday press conference, the Blues boss continued his repeated insistence that there is no issue. “Pierre knows the situation but he’s part of the squad,” he said. “He’s an important player.

“He’s worked hard and nothing is set in stone; his attitude has been really good and we will make an assessment going forward.”

But Aubameyang has since being told he won’t be part of squad for the game against Southampton on Saturday and the decision has left him stunned.
