According to a report on ESPN, Chelsea are ready to offer Mason Mount plus cash to Atletico Madrid for the permanent transfer of Joao Felix.

Felix joined Chelsea on loan from Atletico Madrid in January and has impressed with his performances for the club so far.

Mount will have just one year left on his Chelsea contract in the summer and is yet to reach an agreement with Chelsea over a new contract.

Despite Chelsea’s willingness to extend the contract of Mount, there has been little progress over an extension in recent months.

Mount is reluctant to commit to a long-term contract at Chelsea and is also seeking a significant increase on his existing wage, thought to be around £80,000-a-week, to reflect his status as an England international and senior player.

With Chelsea yet to reach an agreement with Mount, Manchester City, Liverpool, Manchester United and Juventus are all interested in signing the England international in the summer.

Chelsea are reportedly ready to cash in on Mount if he doesn’t extend his contract before the summer.
