According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea planned to sell Christian Pulisic in January after signing Mykhailo Mudryk from Shakhtar Donetsk during the January transfer window.

The Blues were willing to sell Pulisic in January if an offer of around £40million was received for the transfer of the American international but a knee injury halted that plan.

Romano explained on CBS Sports’ House of Champions: “He has a chance to go [this summer]. They’re not accepting loan deals, they need someone to put 35-40M for Pulisic.

“They were prepared to let him go in January before the injury. The plan was Mudryk in, Pulisic out.”
