Chelsea captain Cesar Azpilicueta has revealed Joao Felix has made a huge impact at the club following his arrival from Atletico Madrid in January.
Felix scored his Chelsea goal in the 1-1 draw against West Ham on Saturday, his second outing since joining the club in the winter window. He has had nine shots across those two starts, hitting the target six times.
Speaking about Felix, Azpilicueta said: “I knew him from Atletico Madrid when we played against them, and also when I was watching their La Liga games. I was surprised when he arrived because of the quality he has.
“In training, at West Ham, he has shown the way he can turn and create space. He has been unbelievable in training. He has now scored, which will help his confidence,’ Azpi added.
“He has made a huge impact and I am looking forward to seeing him every day in the team and performing at such a high level.”
