Chelsea are interested in signing Manchester City star Joao Cancelo if Bayern Munich are unable to make his loan move permanent, according to 90min.
Bayern Munich signed the Portugal international full-back on loan in January with an option to make the deal permanent for around €70million.
Cancelo asked to leave Manchester City in January after falling out of favour under Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola.
Bayern Munich director Hasan Salihamidzic has publicly admitted it is ‘difficult to imagine’ triggering their €70m purchase clause on Cancelo’s loan deal and the German side are reportedly looking to negotiate the fee.
Chelsea are reportedly monitoring the situation and are ready to pounce should Bayern Munich and Manchester City fail to reach an agreement over a permanent transfer for Cancelo.
