According to Daily Star via CaughtOffside, Manchester City are ready to beat Chelsea to the transfer of Declan Rice by offering Kalvin Phillips to West Ham.

Phillips joined Manchester City from Leeds in the summer, but was also wanted by West Ham during his time at Elland Road.

It hasn’t really worked out for Phillips at the Etihad Stadium and Manchester City are hoping to beat Chelsea to the transfer of Rice by offering Phillips as part of a deal for the West Ham midfielder.

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola reportedly sees Rice as an upgrade on Phillips and City believe offering Phillips plus cash for Rice gives them advantage over Chelsea.
