Chelsea owners Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital are keen on avoiding a transfer mistake made by previous Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich.
According to The Athletic, the new Chelsea owners are keen not to make the mistake which saw top players like Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen leave the club as free agents.
The new Chelsea ownership will rather sell the players when they have just one year left on their contracts than allow them leave the club for free.
With players like Mason Mount and Mateo Kovacic set to have just one year left on their Chelsea contracts, the Blues will look to sell if no agreement is reached over a new contract.
