Arsenal are interested in signing Chelsea midfielder Jorginho before transfer deadline day on Tuesday, according to The Athletic.
Arsenal are keen on signing a midfielder this January as they are very light on cover for first-choice holding midfielder Thomas Partey, with Mohamed Elneny absent through injury.
Jorginho’s contract at Stamford Bridge expires in the summer and Arsenal have reportedly expressed an interest in signing the 31 year old midfielder.
Arsenal are confident Jorginho will become available for transfer after Chelsea complete the signing of Enzo Fernandez from Benfica.
Arsenal believe Jorginho will provide them with significant experience as they try to win the title this campaign. Jorginho has won the Champions League and Europa League with Chelsea, while he also won the European Championship with Italy in 2020.
