Former Chelsea assistant manager Jody Morris has agreed to become the new Swindon Town manager, according to Sky Sports.

Morris watched Swindon Town’s 3-3 draw against Gillingham on Saturday before finalising his agreement with Swindon Town.

Morris worked as Frank Lampard’s assistant at Derby County and also at Chelsea before both were sacked at Chelsea by former owner Roman Abramovich in January 2021.

Morris, who was Lampard’s assistant at Derby County and Chelsea, didn’t join Lampard’s staff at Everton.

The Swindon Town job will be Morris’ first managerial job in senior men’s football.

Swindon are currently sixth in the League Two table, seven points behind third-placed Northampton in what is a fiercely competitive battle for promotion.
