According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea are ready to go all out to sign a central midfielder before the Tuesday transfer deadline after exploring several options.
Chelsea have hit multiple brick walls in the search for a midfielder this month, with bids for Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo rejected by Benfica and Brighton respectively.
The pursuit of Everton midfielder Amadou Onana has also come to nothing with the Belgium midfielder keen on staying with Everton until the end of the season.
Romano has told GIVEMESPORT that Chelsea have not given up yet on signing a midfielder this January.
Romano said: “Chelsea are exploring many options, so they’re speaking to many clubs, to many agents, to understand the conditions of many deals, and then I think in the next days, they will attack their favourite option. So this is the general situation at the moment around Chelsea.”
