Chelsea have approached Everton to discuss a transfer for 21 year old Belgium midfielder Amadou Onana, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has revealed.

Chelsea’s move for Onana comes after the failed pursuit of Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo and Benfica midfielder Enzo Fernandez.

Romano told GiveMeSport: “He’s on the radar of many clubs because, for example, Chelsea had conversations with his agents. They also approached Everton to understand the conditions of the deal for Onana.”

Onana has impressed at Everton since arriving from Lille in a £33m deal last summer.

According to WhoScored, he is making 2.6 tackles per game this season, which is the third-highest average in the Toffees’ squad.
